Blocks We had to look at 3-Dimmensional pictues and cut blocks to have the same size and shape as in the drawing. Once we made all the blocks w had to create a simple wooden box to put them in. I painted all my blocks blue. Truss challenge We had to create a truss, with our own designes, to withsdtand four forces. The four forces are tension, compression, torsion, and shear. My truss had many triangles because triangles can hold more force and are sturdy. Bridge Design Challenge We had to create a bridge to streatch across a certain distance. We had to create the actual bridge along with I beams and the concrete stands. For the road we used concrete instead of roofing tiles like most groups did. It was more challenging but in the end it looked good. Indoor hydroponics garden For this project we chose partners and had to come up with a way to grow a crop we chose in the North Pole. Me and my partner chose to grow oranges. After you found out what crop to grow, then you design the hydroponics system on a white poster. When finished you had to make a wooden frame to fit around the poster. Cellphone of the future For this project we got to look at a cell phone from 2002 and how much technology has improved since that time. We had to design our own cellphone of the future that would be a step up from todays technology. We could use wood, pink foam, plexiglass, and any other materials needed for the success of this project. Hydroponics 3000 As time goes on the tomato plants are really starting to grow. Many are growing tall and some even have yellow flowers on them. Other students have had major failure with growing the plants. Some seeds havent even sprouted out of the wood shavings.
