House Project
To start the house project we had to get into groups and find some blueprints. After that we had to start making the foundation with concrete and pink foam mold. Then we had to make support beams going accross the foundation. After that we could start the first floor by making walls and carving out doors and windows with the dremmel tool. To increase our projects quality we added a second floor and even siding on the outside of the house with wood.
Wind Turbine
The wind turbine began with a sketch on lined paper. Then we soon got to work cutting the truss design out. Me and brian's turbine was different because we had four trusses instead of only 3. this added needed support and made it more sturdy. Our propeller captured 1.07 volts!!!! It was second best in the class. We painted our turbine blue and it looked fantastic. To finnish it off we had to make a cement base to add stability and make it not fall.
Name Project
This project was very simple. We had to make letters of our name that were 3 inches long, 5 inches high, and 1.5 inches thick. I did my first name (ALAN) and my last name (HILL) and painted them red and blue. I put my latters standing up instead of just laying down like most peoples designs. It only took me about 4 classes to complete
Air plane project
The airplane project was one of the hardest projects of the year. We had to use the a paper with all the dimensions of an airplane and create the airplane. The hardest part was making the wings and fins. They had to be a certain length and at a certain angle to look correct. After we made each part we had to sand it and make it round so no square edges were shown. my finished product was a success and i also made a stand for the plane to rest on.
Air Foil Project
The air foil project was to make an air foil out of pink foam using 4 ribs. The design of it was up to you but it had to be 11 inches long. Then you had to glue paper over the ribs and make sure no air gaps were present so it could fly right. I wasnt able to complete it because i missed a class but it would have been a success.
Final Exam
The final exam was to make a picnic table out of wood. It was very simple because we had all the dimensions so we just had to measure and cut. My table was a semi failure because the glue didn't hold on the bench and it went lopsided.
